Have Swollen Leg Along With Locked Knee Cap. Had A Fall Earlier. What Ti Do Now?

i injured my knee about about a month and a half ago. I felt it give way then i fell. When I turned over it popped back in. I went to the ER where they did x rays and nothing was broken. They referred mo to an Orthopedic DR who told me it sounded like I tore some of the soft tissue and may have stretched a ligament. He told me to do some small exercised like trying to glide my foot along the floor to try to get it moving. I tried that and nothing. I went back to him for a check up and he said my knee cap was locked and i still need to try to get it moving. Well neddless to say I have tried doing various things and its still locked. Now im having as issue where my whole leg will swell when im at work unless i elevate it and put something under my knee to bend it. A few days ago i put a heating pad on low and put on my knee for a few minutes. well when I woke up the next day it was swollen and purple. Now there is a bump over the top of my knee which im assuming is a seized muscle and pain on the outer part of my knee when I try to bend it, it feels like the tendon is going to rip off the bone. My leg now looks deformed to where it goes straight from my thigh to my knee, then there is a lump on the side if my knee n the inside of my leg, the it looks like the bottom part of my leg goes points out. Could there be something more going on with my knee other that soft tissue tears and a locked knee?

hallo dear friend ,thanks for writing to HCM
i have studied your case
how you had any injury to knee?
swelling on knee?
there can be meniscus or ACL ligament injury
you need clinical examination
and MRI knee

with some medication [like eterocoxib 60 mg

calcium suppliment with vit D
take rest , , hot or cold fomentation
avoid lifting weights

physiotherapy - USG swd
if all these doesnt relieve pain you need to undergo arthroscopic meniscus repair
locked knee mainly due to entanglement of torn meniscus between condyles
for further query contact on drvaibhavg@yahoo.com
