Have Swollen Legs, Ankles, Developed Edema And Gained Weight. Have Been Taking Hydralazine. What Can Be Done For This?
After taking 200 mg of Hydralazine BID for about 3 years, I developed significant edema from the waist down. I put on 25-30 lbs n 3 months, my stomach is bloated and my legs and ankles are swollen. My cardiologist has reduced the dosage by 200 mg a day. This was done one week ago. My BP remains under control with the addition of Edarbi. I am wondering how long it will take or the edema to subside and how quickly I can be tot ally weaned from the Hydralazide. female, 72 .

hi, you have edema in the lower limbs... and your dose has been reduced... keep your foot end, when you are sleeping... see your physician, they may put on other diuretic which will help to reduce the edema.. apart from that follow salt restriction to less than 5 gm of salt in the day... all the best
