Have Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure. Taking Janumet, Micardis, Arnica. Can These Cause High Blood Sugar?

My husband has type two diabetes as well as high blood pressure, medications are janumet, micardis, and bystolic. He recently was given azithromycin, prednisone, and ventolin hfa, for bronchitis. He also is taking arnica pills to hell with a recent bout with gout. Could any of these in combination or on there own cause his blood sugar to be elevated?

Hello,
Steroids like prednisolone can cause high levels of blood sugar levels.
As a matter of fact steroids are avoided in diabetics but sometimes it becomes necessary for a short course of steroids to be given.
In such cases, elevated blood sugar levels fall back to the baseline levels, once steroids are stopped.
I blood sugar levels don't come to normal after stopping the steroids, then you may require the revision of your dose of anti diabetic drugs.
Thanks
