i started my period friday 18th october, usually i come on very heavy this was very light spotting it then pprogressed into a heavyish flow over a couple of days and then stopped. i now have very watery discharge and stringy blood when i wipe. sometimes brown discharge this is unlike me my periods usually only last 4 days and heavy throughout then completely stop i never have spotting after or discharge like this. what could it be. i am sexually active and not taking birth control
Hi, Thanks for the query. As you are not using any contraceptive method, if you had unprotected intercourse around the time of ovulation there is possibility of pregnancy. Consult gynecologist once, get examined and go for ultrasound. By this, possibility of miscarriage and any retained products can be ruled out. If there are any retained products, you may need D & C to remove them. If there are no signs of pregnancy, the bleeding you had could be due to hormonal imbalance. In that case taking anti - fibrinolytic drugs to control the bleeding can help. If the bleeding persists after taking these also, you may need hormonal pills to regularize the periods. Hormonal pills help for contraceptive purpose also. Take care.

Hi, Thanks for the query. As you are not using any contraceptive method, if you had unprotected intercourse around the time of ovulation there is possibility of pregnancy.
