Hi and thanks for the query, It is important to know for how long you have been coughing. Is it associated with other symptoms like chest pain, wheezing, weight loss, fever? What triggers the cough? All these clinical symptoms and family history of asthma and other chronic bronchopneumopathies are important considerations. Other risk factors like smoking are important to know. You might need to consult your primary care physician for a clinical examination and a chest X ray to be sure or orient an appropriate diagnosis. Based on these finding, appropriate medications could then be prescribed. Thanks and hope this helps, Best regards, Luchuo, MD.
