Having Intense Abdominal Pain As The Bowel Moves. Bowel Movement Normal And Soft. Cause?
I have been having intense lower left abdominal pain as a bowel movement starts moving. Usually within a minute or two I will get extreme pain as the bowel movement is passing through the colon. The pain lasts between 30 to 45 seconds, please note the pain is more excruciating than delivering a baby and I have 5 children! The pain will subside then I will have to go to the bathroom usually within 5 minutes. Expecting to see a large, extra firm bowel movement that would have caused that horrible pain, the bowel movement is normal and soft. Do you have an idea what is causing this unbearable pain.
Hi.. Thanks for the query... Either hard stools or narrow intestines may be causing the problem.. As you are telling that the stools are soft there could be narrowing of the lumen of intestines.. Adhesions may be causing this problem.. Do you have any other symptoms like passing blood in stools or scanty stool etc., You can get an ultrasound/CT scan test done to see if there is any abnormality.. or a colonoscopy.. Consult a gastroenterologist who can advise you about that... Take care...
