Having Migraine, Tried Many Medicines, Not Helping, Not Sensitive To Light And Sound. Any Suggestions?
I have had my first migraine in 15 months. I used to get them 6/month until I got on HRT. They usually only last one day - this one is now on the third day. I have taken Imitrex spray for 2 days; it's not helping (it usually does). I have used Naproxen Sodium 550 mg. I have used a heating pad over the right side where the pain is. I do not have light & sound sensitivity w/my migraines. I am only get 2 hours of sleep at a time. Any other suggestions for me?
Migraine is triggered by many factors. Some common ones are :- 1. Lack of sleep. 2. Physical stress. 3. Mental/emotional stress. 4. Missed meal. 5. Excess of dairy products/chocolates. 6. Cigarette/Alcohol, if any. 7. Menstrual periods in females. 8. Excess of coffee.
Avoidance of above factors can decrease the severity and frequency of attacks.
Paracetamol 500 mg along with Domperidone 10 mg can give you some relief. You can discuss with your doctor for starting Flunarizine 10 mg at night for prevention of these attacks.
I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks.
