Having Noticed A Cut On The Head Due To An Injury

Hi I bent down to pick something up off the kitchen floor and as I straightened up I smacked the top of my head onto the corner of an open cupboard door very hard. It cut the top of my head and there was quite a bit of blood. Its been a day since the incident I ve put some antiseptic cream and bandaged the wound what else can I do or look out for? I did wash the top of my head with water before applying the cream was that a bad idea?

Hello,

Since there was a lot of blood, the wound may need sutures and sterile dressing in order to prevent any infection. So, I suggest you see your doctor for it. In some cases, antibiotics and anti-tetanus may be also necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
