Having Noticed A Dent On Right Buttock Cause Due To Injections

I have a dent in my right buttock from injections I had as a child. The dent goes in quite a bit and is very noticeable even in clothes. If I raise my leg with the dent ( exercise for example) it s very uncomfortable even to sit on for long periods. When I feel the dent it s very hard, the side of my buttock is bony, yet my bum is saggy. I m only 29 and 5 foot. I m not overweight and as u child was quite athletic. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this dent. It brings my confidence down as I can t wear certain clothes because it shows.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Dent on buttock has occurred due to steroid injection as a side effect. Subcutaneous atrophy is responsible for the dent. It is very difficult to treat. A surgical opinion should be taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
