Having Noticed Double Vision At The Sides Of The Eyes

we have an appt with an ent for my 87 year old father.
he woke up thurs 8/16 2a with n/v. his eyes are at the outer sides
of their orbital space and he is seeing double. he said he can see if he covers
either eye. can he use an eyepatch? YYYY@YYYY

Hello
It seems from the history that your father is having double vision and it is present only on opening both the eyes and it disappears on closing one of the either eyes.
This is seen in extraocular muscle palsies because of damage to the nerves supplying the extraocular muscles.
The common causes for nerve palsies are diabetes, hypertension and neurological diseases.
Hence he requires evaluation by a physician or a neurologist to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.
