Having Noticed Severe Swelling Under The Eye After Having A Cataract Surgery

My dad had cataract surgery last Friday. He has woken up this morning with severe swelling under his eye which he thinks is his tooth and also a very red spot under his eye. He has an routine appointment with the surgeon at 2.45 today - can this wait until then?

Hello
It seems from the history that your father has undergone cataract surgery and following surgery he is having swelling under the eyelid and a red spot under his eye.
Since he has undergone cataract surgery he needs examination to rule out inflammation induced by surgery. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination. If he is having pain, redness and diminution of vision, then he need to consult doctor at the earliest, otherwise he can go on his scheduled appointment.

Thank you
