A very good evening to u..The clinical condition what u are experiencing is ALOPECIA...There can be a variety of causes leading to alopecia..
First and foremost u should not tie your hair very tightly,as it causes traction on the hair leading to traction alopecia....SInce u are saying that your mother is having the same condition, there is a likely possibility of it being hereditary ,also known as androgenetic alopecia...
I would advise you to have lots of green leafy vegetables...Take biotin containing tablets...There are hair grow lotions which are easily available in the market, which have to be applied three to four times a day..Wash your hair with a good shampoo and dont forget to use a hair conditioner after that...In case your scalp is itchy and scaly ,use an anti dandruff shampoo... Avoid hair treatments like straightening or rebonding your hair,as it damages your hair..
