Having Wheezing Asthma For 5 Years, Dizziness, Acidity Problem. Using Asthalin Inhaler. Any Permanent Cure To Asthma?
Hello Doctor,
I have heavy "wheezing asthma" for past 5 years. I was using Asthalin inhaler and use to take more than 8 puff per day.
Recently i my heart increased suddenly and i met doctor. They advised me to take "Foracart 200mg" 2 puff morning and evening. + Monotek tablet daily night.
Now no wheezing problem for past 2 weeks. But, heavy "dizziness" there from morning till evening and not able to walk for more than 500 meters.. Plus i have acidity problem also. Can some one help me. Is there any chance to cure wheezing problem permanently?.
Welcome to HCM. There is no permanent cure for asthma because most likely it is allergic. You have to be watchful for triggering factors like dusty, smoky exposure, seasonal changes. According to me use of rotacaps give more advantage then inhaler. Data also says that availability of effective dose is more with rotacaps in those who can shuck actively. You can take montelukast during episodes but with levocetrize will be more beneficial. You can take rebeprazole or pentoprazole for acidity. Try to avoid triggering factor. Keep regular follow up with your doctor.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Since you were using asthalin for more than 8 puffs a day, your asthma was uncontrolled. Now Foracort 200 mg 2 puff means 400mg twice daily with one 10 mg Montelukast at evening, you are relieved means controlled since 2 weeks. This is the right drug and is according to GINA guidelines. Dizziness may be due to drug itself as there are few reported cases, or due to improper sleep, exercises and diet. If over weight/obese reduce your weight, consult your nutritionist for fieting and exercise, Continue same drug for 2 more weeks then you can optimize your dose of steroid. Can get done skin prick test to know the allergen and can take complete immunotherapy for it. Consult your doctor to discuss for it if available at your place. Hope I answered your question.
Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
