Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I m 48 years old last nov I had high colestrol 7.4 And triglsr. I ve been working out and had a drastic change to my diet dropped about 10 kg since, but I have this problem of heart skipping the it races maybe panic attack chest closing up tight I keep doing ECG , heart inzime, blood tests all ok, I do have gas and belch on a daily basis, but I keep thinking as if I have a hart valve problem, no one is able to find what s wrong???
I read your history in detail. By loosing ten KG you have not mentioned how much you weigh now and have reached normal weight for your height? What happened to cholesterol and triglycerides after diet and exercise? If your blood enzymes and EKGs are normal that means that you do not have coronary heart disease leading to angina like pain on exertion. Your heart skipping a beat can be normal also. An echocardiography & Doppler examination will easily exclude the diagnosis of valvular disease but it should be done if after cardiac auscultation by a medical specialist suspects it. Your chest pain can be due to gastro-esophageal reflux or hiatus hernia; in these conditions acidic contents of your stomach spill over to your food pipe(esophagus). Therefore, you need a medical specialist's consult who can competently plan course of action for you.
