Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, Thanks for your time. I am 46, male, white. Just recently I had my medical examination. Blood test results showed high count od RBC (6.43mil). Blood pressure was 140/80. After the examination I have measured the BP every day, and sometimes it reached up 145/95. Is there connection between the high RBC and BP? What should I do. I do not exercise, but I do physical activity through my work (2-3 days a week). I do not smoke , do not drink, do not eat red meat often. I think I have a healthy diet ( except the fact I like salted food). Thank you in anticipation of your kind reply
Hi
one condition called polycythemia in that RBC count goes up
and its true that elevated RBC count can elevate BP and you may find change in BP
because it change viscocity of blood
i advice to consult haematologist first and get evaluted for high RBC count
avoid dehydration ,
take good amount of oral fluids
take care
