Hip Joint Not Moving Sideways. Ankle Joint Not Flexing Upwards. Severe Scoliosis Of Spine. Had Childhood Paralysis. Suggestions?
Hi - I have a left hip joint that will not move out sideways or rotate effectively. I also have a left ankle joint that will not flex upwards. This is coupled with severe scoliosis of the spine . I m 52 and all this results from childhood paralysis at the age of 11 (similar to polio ). As I age this is causing me increasing mobility issues
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Since scoliosis is from childhood , so abnormalities are bound to happen . As age progresses this deformities ( bending of spinal cord on lateral side) become more prominent . Only suitable belt will help , but not a treatment. Only muscle relaxant and pain killer will give you some relief. An orthopaedic surgeon may help, so consult the same. Good luck. Dr. HET
