History Of Deep Laceration Near Eyebrow Due To Fall Followed By Stitches. Numbness In Area Going Back To Head, Tingling. Regrowing Nerve?
Hi, Dr. Grief, I took a fall about a month ago and surrered a deep laceration about my eyebrow. I recieved 14 stictches, the underlying ones to reattach torn muscle and then overlying stiches. In a day I experienced complete munbness going from the incision all the way back to the crown of my head. I think the perimiter is a little less (of numbness0 but i wonder if the tingling i feel in the numb areas is a sign of nerve trying to regrow. Do I need to see my dr. for follow up? Thank you
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The numbness and tingling in the area of stitches is likely to be due to the regeneration of the nerves in the area. This feeling will gradually subside without any treatment. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
