Hot Flushes, Nausea, Weakness, Headaches. Have RA, PCOS, Insulin Resistant. Is This Full Blown Diabetes ?

Been feeling flush, hot stages going over me, nausea , weakness, feel like I m dying or going to dye when these temperature changes hit. Also been having crazy headaches the past few weeks, and drooping on left side of face for just under a minute. Haven t had a period in 3.5 months, I m not pregnant. I do have RA, PCOS , insulin resistant, but wondering if that could ve changed to full blown diabetes now? Thyroid removed a few years ago, but that s been showing okay according to blood work. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Dear Tarasgrace,

You haven't mentioned your age. But if you are around 40 years and have family history of menopause at around this age, then you might be perimenopausal as of now and that's the reason for your disturbing hot flushes and missed periods.
High sugars can be another reason for feeling restless but hot flushes is not how a full blown diabetes presents generally.
History of surgical removal of thyroid warrants two things- if your thyroid state normal as per tests done within last 3 months? If yes, then fine. otherwise get them done.
Secondly after a few years post thyroidectomy most of the people tend to suffer from something called 'hypoparathyroidism' where your body calcium drops down and you get these symptoms.
hence get your OGTT, HbA1c, Serum calcium, Phosporus, Albumin, ALP, TSH, FT4, FSH, LH done. Do revert back for further questions. Good luck.
