How Are Bladder Polyps Typically Removed?

How are bladder polyps typically removed? My husband had cystoscopy and I thought the lesion could be removed via that procedure, but his doctor said surgery will be required even though it is quite small. Is there a non-invasive manner of doing this or are you cut?????

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Your concern is understandable.
As an Urologist, let me assure you, that bladder polyps are treated by endoscopic surgery, which is a painless operation. But, all polyps don't need surgery, unless, they bleed or become complicated.
The polyps can cause symptoms, which are then confirmed with urine ,blood tests and further ultrasound / CT scan abdomen. The final test is a cystoscopy with biopsy, if indicated.
You're welcome to send me the reports of scan and cystoscopy for an expert opinion. Wishing your husband a speedy recovery.
