How Can 8 Inch Long String Stay For A Long Time In Intestine Without Creating Any Major Problems?

Hi I have had a problem with constipation for a year now but about a week away I passed what app reared to be a 8 inch long string, I thought it was a worm but I tried to break it and I could not, cannot imagine hoe I could have ever swallowed it. Could this have been tangled in my intestines all this time? Since this I have not had such problems

Noted the history and understood your concerns.
8 inch long string in the stool can not pose any problems if it is flexible and the intestine has the capacity to pass it on till passed out in feces. Important was to get this cleared whether this was a thread that you might have mistakenly swallowed or what.
You should have sent it for test, who knows it would have been a round worm.
You can still send the stool sample for tests as it may show the ova or cyst to get a confirmation and if present get a course of Albendazole on an empty stomach and to be repeated after 15 days.
Watch for further problems and as you have not mentioned I take this that you have no symptoms at all. So relax, keep stool under observation and stop worrying.
