Hello,

HIV viral load or the copies of HIV can be determined by using ELISA technique; we can measure more accurately by these tests. CD4 count is usually determined by flow cytometry technique.

For a positive HIV person, CD4 count is extremely important. If the count decreases many opportunistic infections will come.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Siddartha
