How Can HIV Infection Be Diagnosed?

Hi, I feel I am infected with hiv all the time, I keep checking my skin for rashes and recently I have had sex with a girl and I experienced a flu and a rash on my face which could be an allergic reaction to a frappe I ve had. This is a problem I have always had, Hypochondria. I got the girl tested for hiv and she was negative and so was I. But, my feet started sweating for the first time with no prior history when I was suffering with the flu and it did not stop since then. My skin is dry.

Hello,

When your sex partner is nonreactive for HIV (unless if she was in the window period), then you can not get HIV from her. All your symptoms are not specific, only to HIV and can occur to anybody at any point of time or it may be due to anxiety even. The chance of an HIV infection can either be confirmed or ruled out with a fourth generation test more conclusively after the window period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S. Murugan
