How Can I Revive The Lungs After Quitting Smoking?

I am a smoker, taking three to four cigarettes a day. How can I revive the lungs after quitting. I live with the apprehension that in the later ages I will have lungs gongestion and breathing problem. Can you suggest simle steps to revive/reinvigorate the lungs?

I can understand your concern.
Smoking is very bad habit. So you should stop it as soon as possible.
After quitting smoking, for better lung health, do following things.
1. Avoid dust and pollution.
2. Start deep breathing exercises.
3. Start incentive spirometry.
4. Enroll yourself in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation center where chest physiotherapy is done.
5. Eat healthy food, rich in vitamin, protein etc to improve immunity.
6. Get done adult Pulmonary vaccination like pneumococcal and Influenza vaccines to prevent recurrent respiratory tract infection.
