How Can I Take Out The Tampon Which Is Struck To The Hymen?

I m 13, me and mom were talking about tampons last night, so I got curious and today I tried my first tampon... Getting it in went smoothly, but now I m trying to take it out but it s stuck on my hymen I think... I tried taking a bath but nothing s working.... It hurts whenever I try to take it out, and I am crying so badly as I don t want to tell my mom that I tried one and now it s stuck . My 2 year old brother and my mom are both asleep and I m in the bathroom crying and I m so confused and I really don t want to tell my mom and/or go to the hospital

Hello,

You can use antiseptic lotion to sock the tampon and pull it out slowly. You can use sufficient pressure as nothing will happen while pulling it out. If you face any difficulty, consult a gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
