You are right that CBC and
ESR are not the tests, which can detect, presence of
HIV infection. There are specific tests, which can detect presence of HIV infection in the body.

Nucleic acid test can detect presence of infection at least 10-30 days after exposure.
- Antigen / Antibody test can detect presence of this infection at least after 15-45 days of exposure.
- Antibody test can detect presence of infection at least after 30-90 days of infection.
As your exposure period is 7-8 months, therefore, you can take antibody test, which should confirm or rule out the presence of HIV infection in your case. This test is very simple, rapid and least expensive.
