How Can I Treat A Ringworm Infection At Home?

When I was younger I had eczema on my hands. Was free and clear of it for about five years until I had my kid. my hands very rarely breakout anymore, but now in my 20s it has turned to psoriasis randomly on my forearms inner elbow and wrist and now I can’t tell if it’s my psoriasis or if I have ringworm or combination but it definitely resembles ringworm and is spreading up my arms now I have a sore swollen throat, lightheaded, poops, stuffy nose. The rash has started a couple weeks ago started as three spots, two of them I had a small ring around it but kind of resembled what my hands used to do so didn’t think anything of it Now the spots have gotten bigger and ran into each other spreading down my arm with a couple random spots and dots on my other arm know also. Are you able to get a body infection from ringworm or rash? If it’s ringworm how would I treat it at home I do not have insurance and is it OK if I keep it wrapped for work ? and is it possible that it started off as psoriasis and got infected? I am a Waitress and when I thought it was my psoriasis I avoid washing my arms ( I wash my hands though) too much with soap at work because it irritates it and makes it worse but now I’m thinking I infected it.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Ringworm is a fungal infection of skin.if the infection is mild it can treated with topical antifungals like Ketoconazole cream. If the involvement is extensive then use combination of topical and oral Fluconazole tablet for a period of 1 week. This will help cure from ringworm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
