How Can IBS, Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea Be Managed In A Person Whose Ultrasound Reports Are Normal And Lipase Reading Was 7000?

My lipase reading was 7000 and my triglycerides are normal. I went for an ultrasound and CT scan and they came back normal. My pain comes and goes in my upper abdomen and I suffer from gas and diarrhea. I also have IBS. It is a mystery what is causing this problem.

Hello,

Are you alcoholic?? Lipase elevated in pancreatitis cases it may be due to alcohol or gallstones or alfa 1 antitrypsin deficiency etc.

Please check serum amylase levels and ultrasound abdomen and CT abdomen. If normal don't worry please keep an eye on your lipase levels.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Avoid gluten and lactose contain food.

Use tablet normaxin.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
