i was diagnosed with rhumatoid arthritis in feb last year docs have tried methetrexate in table form with other tablets to stop stomach problems from the methetrexate this did not work at all after about 3 months they put me on the self injectable methetrexate not from having probs with liver or other organs as all blood test keep comming back all ok apart from arthritis very active this calmed the swelling down a little but nothing else in about sept last year they kept me on these tablets (oh yes im also on folic acid tablets 3 times a week to help with build up of iron from the methetrexate taking the iron from body ) and the injectable methetrexate and as this was not working they tested me for hiv and other things and told me i was a good risk for putting me on a bio med the one they decided to try me on first was cimzia iv been on this for bout 15 weeks the swelling has gone but the pain in joints which are affected which are hands fingers feet balls of feet toes knees mostly right knee and wrists in between this iv had 3 or 4 injections of steroids and one bout of fusiouns in hospital on drip for couple of hours for 3 days concecative as now im getting so many nasty side effects im worred that my rhumatolagist is going to tell me iv got a decision to make either live with the bad cripling arthritis and no meds or use these meds and put up with the bad side effects please is there anything else that can be done for me i live in the uk
