How Can A Balanced Diet Be Inculcated In Children?

Hello. My 3yr grandson has a selective eating pattern, restricts his diet to mainly carbohydrates and refuses all other food bar 3 or 4 items. The vege component that he will eat is restricted to one item only and is only suitable for babies. Please advise? Thanks. Jenny.

Dear Jenny, Diet of baby should be balanced with carbohydrates, proteins, fat, vitamins and minerals. Your grandson has learned to eat few things. Do not succumb to his demands. If he doesn't take other food, don't give him what he likes even if he cries and makes tantrums. After some time he will learn that I am not going to get only what I like. All family members will do the same thing, no sympathy please. It is good for your grandson only. Best wishes.....
