Hello,

Is he diabetic or hypertensive? He may be suffering from facial nerve palsy. Only after examination, we can say is it central or peripheral nerve injury. If it is a central cause like stroke the only opposite side of the lower half of the face is involved due to upper half bilateral innervation.

If it is a peripheral injury in the ganglion, or ear canal etcetera same side half of the case is involved. Use physiotherapy and please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
