How Can A Fluid Filled Blister On The Skin Be Treated?
Hello. My daughter fell from her bike and got road rash that healed beautifully with the exception of a single recurring blister. Her accident was about a month ago. The blister has only clear fluid in it, and there is no indication that she has an infection - no fever, no puss, no redness. Why won t the blister heal?
Hi. As per your case history of blister, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
