Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had small amount of swelling in the lingual frenulum under my tongue with redness and a small yellow dot (looking like a small pus area) but was no bigger than a pin head. I noticed it because it was irratating and I could tell it was a little swollen. Less than an hour later I noticed a huge knot (ping pong ball size) in my neck under my chin. When I pushed on it I could feel the pressure under my tongue and it actually hurt a little and was pulling on the lingual frenulum. I immediately started taking some antibiotics that my husband had and went to the dr. the next day (pcp). She said I must have some infection process going on. I only had a little fluid behind my right ear but she said don't take antibiotics. I continued taking them anyway. Today a week later I still have a knot under my chin but much smaller and still have a yellow dot on my lingual frenulum with most inflammation gone. If I push on the knot or lymph node I still feel it pulling under my tongue. Help please?
