How Can A Painful Ankle Fracture Be Treated?

...Hi I have a stress fracture on my 2nd metatarsal bone. I have been to a doctor and they have confirmed it and put me in a boot for 6 weeks. I am on week 5 and go back to the doctor in a week. My pain has not gotten better and has even worsened. I have been icing it also to relieve pain but nothing has worked. What do you think I can do to help relive the pain. Also do u think I will have to be in a boot longer or will I have to get a cast or some other way to heal it. I look forward to hearing your feedback thanks!

Hi,

You can stronger analgesics like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac for pain relief. If the fractured segments are undisplaced it will heal with out surgical correction. You can consult your orthopedic and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
