How Can A Painful Blister Under The Tongue Be Treated?

Mthe frenulum, under my tongue is a little painful with a small blood sac, blister, or clot underneath it. I recently had a severe migraine headache, which caused a violent spell of vomiting. Afterwards I felt tightness in my throat for several days. I just noticed the problem with my frenulum today. What can this be?

Hello,

A painful blister over the frenulum can be due to an ulcer formation or a hematoma due to any traumatic injury to the frenulum. Vigorous vomiting can also cause stretching of the frenulum and can cause injury and blister formation.

But you need not worry as it will get healed soon. For now, you can start doing warm saline gargles, and antiseptic mouthwash gargles. You can apply Mucopain gel over the blister to reduce pain. Avoid eating any hard foods as they can get injured again. If it does not get better in the next 3-4 days, or continue to worsen consult an oral physician and get evaluated.
