How Can A Persistent Eye Infection With Glazing Be Treated?
11 weeks ago I got an eye infection and my pharmacist gave me some drops for conjunctivitis which I put in my eyes for 5 days. This didn't clear it up so a week later I did another 5 day course. Again this didn't clear it up so a week later I went to my GP who gave me some different drops for conjunctivitis 'Fucithalmic' which I used for 10 days this still didn't work so after another week I went back to my GP who prescribed the same drops to be used for 2 weeks alongside some other drops 'Hypromellose'. Although there was an improvement I still had glazed pink eyes. I went to my optician who checked behind my eyes and put a dye in and looked at the fronts. She said she didn't see anything wrong. She told me to cleanse my eyes with a solution of baby shampoo morning and night and to use Optrex eye bath (which I did for a week) and to carry on using the Hypromollose when required. My eyes are a lot better in the mornings than they were but I still have glazed pink eyes. I haven't used any eye make up for 11 weeks now. I only use moisturiser on my face but not around the eye area. I've never had this problem before and I am 61. I wear glasses for reading. What else can be done?
