How Can A Rash And Itching In The Groin Area Be Treated?

For the last 6 months, I have had a rash in my groin area (crease where light meets torso, folds under belly skin, base of penis) and now it has appeared on the back of my leg in the crease behind the knee. Itchy as hell, especially at night. Jock itch medication didn t work. Hydrocoritzone / antibiotic ointment didn t work, neither did baby powder. It s driving me crazy. Anything else I can try or should I go see a doctor?

Hello,

The symptoms are more consistent with superficial fungal infection.

As a first line management, you can take antihistamines like Pheniramine or Cetirizine for itching.

You can apply topical antifungal creams like clotrimazole after cleaning with soap and water.

If symptoms persist it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
