February 2017 I developed a rash on top part both legs below knees it lasted thru the month of June. The itching drove me crazy. I tried everything possible to make it feel better and go away. My dermatologist showed no concern. (not hot weather here - it is cold where I live) Now it is 2018 and it started again two weeks ago. This time my feet started itching approximately one week before my legs started bothering me. Socks just create heat which makes my feet and legs itch. When I got home from work two days ago, I had red spots on my feet and my legs from top of feet to knees were covered with a rash with a few red spots passed knees. I wear short pants & flip flops at home so I can get air to my feet and legs. Honestly, this is driving me crazy. I try not to scratch. I use a bath brush, not finger nails. Please I need relief. Thanks
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history you are having eczema, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
