How Can A Vascular Non-malignant Tumor Be Treated?
I recently took my 12 yr old daughter to her Dr. with what I thought was a red mole or hemangioma. She diagnosed it as a vascular non-melignat something. ( She wrote it on a piece of paper & I have lost it ) My daughter is in the ER right now because it is now open & won t stop bleeding. I would like to be able to tell the Dr what hers thought it was... any ideas? I guess it is very common & usually shows up on the face. She showed me pictures & everything. Thank you...
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It could be a pyogenic granuloma, which is a vascular non malignant lesion that is more common in girls. It commonly follows minor trauma especially in the face. It can cause trouble some bleeding and is usually treated with electrocautery (means to desiccate it with laser or electrical energy) or a formal surgical removal. Smaller lesions can subside spontaneously as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
