How Can Accidental Intake Of Metoprolol Affect Health?

Hello. I take lisinopril 20mg with 12.5mg hctz twice daily. I also take amlodipine calcium CH blocker 5mg once per day in the morning. Tonight while taking my normal lisinopril dosage I also accidently turned around and in a accidental moment took my wife s bp medicine with mine also. She takes metoprolol er 100mg. Is this is a serious problem or should I be fine but skip my morning bp meds tomorrow? I am 31, 370lbs, and no other health problems.

I read your query and I understand your concern.

Metoprolol lowers blood pressure as well as reduces frequency of heart beats.
I would say if you are feeling ok (no headache, dizzyness) no medical help is necessary, just skip lisinopril/hctz. In the meanwhile in the next 16 hours measure your blood pressure and pulse rate every 4-6 hours or so. If pulse rate goes under 50 you should seek medical help. If between 50-60 (norm is above 60) and you feel fine wouldn't worry, can take a cup of coffee which increases the rate. As for blood pressure if under 100/60 take fluids and a cup of coffee.
I don't think you will have any problems really, just measure the above to be cautious. If you're having symptoms like headache, dizzyness, palpitation etc with low pulse rate and blood pressure go to the ER to receive treatment with iv solutions and drugs to increase heart rate.

I hope to have been of help.
