How Can Acute Laryngitis Be Treated?

I was on antibiotics for a month in Dec. I got a chest cold on January 6th. I developed laryngitis on Jan. 11th. I have had laryngitis since then. I have been treated with methyl prednisone, steroid shot, azythramiacin. Since mid Jan I have had lots of gas, belching, gurgling sound in my throat after I drink water or tea. I went to an ENT on January 27th and he said I have acute laryngitis (he scoped me to check my larynx). He told me to come back after Feb 17th if not better. I am eating a high alkaline diet as I think I have reflux laryngitis. What is this and what can I do? I am trying to avoid medication for GERD

Dear possible causes for acute laryngitis is viral infections, straining your vocal cords by talking or yelling, bacterial infections, drinking too much alcohol etc.
Take vocal rest, use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.
Insects antibiotics and pain killer for early improvement.
