yes, I met a new 32 year old Chinese female church friend. Through a talk at one time (as she was adjusting her wig) I asked her what happened. She said she suffered for 4 years during her university age from Alopecia Universalis. She suffered much. Since she has only been here 18 months (having given up on treatments for 10 years back in China), she is not aware of treatments available in the USA to regrow her hair. I told her I'd check on it. So, what are the current (non-surgical) treatments today - that work today? I've been doing a lot of reading and research about lots of meds, creams, vitamin capsules and more. - Glenn Johnston
Hello, I have gone through your query and understand your concern. At present, there is no cure for Alopecia universalis. But you can try some treatments like corticosteroid injection in bald. It may work for some one but not for all. Further she must be watched for the side effects of the steroids. She is suffering from a type of auto immune disorder in which her own immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles. Luckily the hair usually grows back slowly by itself. Sometimes the new hair may regrow grey or white, but after a while the original color usually returns.
Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
