A 2 year old child in a childcare setting where I work has an enlarged tongue and he cannot sit with peers at snack time to choose the fruits he likes to eat. Infact, when I encourage him to eat a piece of fruit he takes it and throws it on the floor. It appears that he never had the opportunity at home to do so as mum said she always feeds him and he dont like fruits. What else can i do to help this child, as his peers teases him also since he cannot speak clearly. His way of communicating is by pointing. His mum has little english for me to discuss this issue and dad works long hours and he said he is fed up waiting on the family doctor to do something. How can you help this family ? Please help
