How Can An Itchy Rash On The Penis Be Treated?

Hi, I have had rash around the crown of my penis for some months now. Sometimes they go away on their own and come back. Most times it doesn t itch much. It doesn t pain. But sometimes it itches. I really do not know what this could be please i need help on something i could use to treat it while i save up money to go see a doctor later

Hi,

The itching on penile prepuce may be due to irritant contact dermatitis or candidal balanoposthitis. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

After thorough examination and investigations,you may be treated by your dermatologist. If it is just,irritant contact dermatitis, avoid the contact with suspected irritant. Take a short course of steroid and antihistaminics.

If it is candidal balanoposthitis,take a course of Antifungal and apply Antifungal cream. Avoid sexual activity for a few weeks.

Your symptoms can be related to many medical conditions.

I suggest you to treat the itchiness of a rash with over-the-counter (OTC) creams such as Hydrocortisone.
