How Can Anorexia With Treatment Of Psychotherapy Be Better Understood?

I am trying to understand the process of what my sister is goign through at the moment, she is anorexic, she is currently going through phsycotherapy... she now completely shuts herself off from her family, is this normal?
Also is there some type of guidline for a therapy program which could help me understand what's going on?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Anorexia itself will not cause quit from family members. I think she may also have some other problems like Major depressive disorder or else.

Please consult your psychiatrist so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
