Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my father is 77 and he has no apatite, when he tries to eat, he wants to vomit and if he keeps food down it results in instant belching. He just came back from the ER and his blood and CT scan came back good. He has had worsening memory loss over the past couple years with it being more noticeable in the past few months. He s normally very cheerful, but he says he knows something is wrong, but he can t really describe it. He seems depressed and I can see it in his face.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
He needs to see a gastroenterologist and probably needs an upper endoscopy done to determine the cause of the nausea/belching/vomiting. Depression occurs with many types of memory losses such as Alzheimers disease. He needs to see a neurologist to determine the cause of his memory loss.
Regards
