my 54 year old brother has recently started hearing voices that are threatening his well being. He has also began laughing out loud for no reason and displaying extreme paranoia. I have tried to get him to seek help but he refuses. He is also responding verbally to the voices. What can I do to seek help for him?

in my opinion since he has auditory hallucinations it is important to rule out electrolyte disturbances like sodium , potassium , also to make sure blood sugars are normal , blood lipids, ec g then small dose of drugs like quinidine can be started
