My 89 year old dad has a bed sore on his bottom....he is a double amputee....has been in the hospital the past month 3 times, and is pretty weak from doing so.....looks like the top layer of skin has been removed (probably the size of a quarter.....He can only lay in bed on his side.....he is getting pretty depressed....your advise?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This sounds like a pressure ulcer (bed sore). These can become infected and hare very hard to heal. He needs to see a wound care specialist to get this healed up as soon as possible.
Regards
