How Can Blisters On The Ankle Caused After A Swallowtail Sting Be Treated?
I was bitten by a pipevine swallowtail (poisonous butterfly on the ankle ~48 hours ago. blisters appeared ~24 hours later then opened. oozing of clear fluid occured. no pain or other symptoms (nausea etc) have occured, although my foot is swollen. wound does not show signs of healing yet. Still a small amount of draining.
Due to the bite of butterfly you got a hypersensitive reaction in the skin leading to oedema and oozing. Take antihistaminics like cetirizine 10 mg twice a day with oral steroid in tapering dose.
Antibiotics may be added to prevent secondary bacterial infection. Apply antibiotic cream. Take rest with elevated leg. This might reduce the swelling and might get cured in a week or two.

You can apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin after cleaning with soap and water. If there are signs of infection like redness or discharge, you can consult a physician and start on antibiotics.
