Hallow Dear,

When the pregnancy test at the medical facility has reported positive result, there is no doubt about the pregnancy. Yes madam you are pregnant. In your history, there is no mention about your missing period. It is a very relevant and important information.

The clot you passed looked like chunk of liver, hence it could be either part of the products of conception meaning thereby that you are in a process of abortion or it could be dislodgement of some clot previously entangled in cervix. It could be bleeding from cervical region also. After abortion, or after the baby is non-viable, it takes about a week minimum for the pregnancy test to become negative.

Please submit yourself for ultrasonography.

If the products within the uterine cavity are undisturbed showing cardiac activity of the baby (provided you have attained that much period of 6 weeks) it is undisturbed pregnancy. Then you may be put on some progestational medicine like Susten or so to safeguard the pregnancy. However, if this pregnancy is unwanted pregnancy, you may opt for medical termination of pregnancy before completing 9 weeks of gestation (only with the advice from a Gynaecologist).

If the products are expelled out partially, it is incomplete abortion and you will need surgical evacuation of the uterus.

If the uterine cavity is empty, you have aborted completely and no action is needed.

I hope this would resolve your dilemma.
