How Can Body Itching Be Treated While Suffering From Alzheimer S Disease?
Hello.... My Mother is 90 years of age with late stage Alzheimer s disease. She also has congestive heart failure but does not need oxygen. in the couple of months she as developed a full body rash which she constantly itches. We have tried various topical, changing meds, etc, with no relief. She had also been diagnosed with lupus in her forties. Could this be resurgence of the lupus and what can I do to alleviate the itch?
(1) You need to check with your treating doctors for Alzeimer and Congestive heart failure just to check if she has developed allergy to ongoing medication. (2) As she is 90 years old, better to consult Dermatologist if point (1) is not the cause for itching. Old age people get itching due to dryness of Skin also sometimes due to some infection, this requires consultation by Dermatologist. As after physical examination one can ascertain if it's due to Lupus / Dry Skin /Infective pathology
